The Pittsburgh Pirates New Logo. Just kidding, It’s not really a new logo. The Pirates recently announced that they are moving to the gold “P” as their main logo. They are abandoning the the Pirate Character and demoting it to the secondary mark.
They are making the same decision as the Cleveland Indians. We posted about their switch yesterday. I wanted to do the same search for the Pittsburgh hats to see if they are adopting the “P” completely or if the Pirates logo is creeping in their merchandise more than they think.

It looks like the Pirates are closer to their goal of their merchandise representing the franchise with the P instead of the Pirate. Cleveland wasn’t very close to their goal in our last post.
