New Era has released (in the media and to the teams) a brand new hat for the 2013 season. The teams will be donning the Diamond Era hat. It is a 59fifty collection with a variety of color combinations for each team. They are made from an advanced moisture-wicking technology for better performance and breathability.
The new cap, which is part of an overall spring rollout of new MLB Authentic gear, incorporates new NE TECH performance technology. Made with a new state-of-the art performance diamond print fabric, the Diamond Era 59FIFTY is lighter for increased breathability. It also features SOLAREA, 50+ UV protection that helps deflect the sun’s rays, in keeping with MLB’s “Play Sun Smart” effort to protect players exposed to the sun, and COOLERA technology that wicks away sweat to keep players comfortable and dry. – MLB.com
The new hat will be available February 22nd. They may release it to MLB shops and team shops initially. I will have the updated availablity as soon as it becomes available online.
